Built forforty below.

Parkas, shells and knits cut and sewn in Old Strathcona, then rated outside on the coldest mornings this city has.

This season

Six pieces, one standard.

Every piece is rated by us, outdoors, in January. The number on the tag is the number we got, not the one we wanted.

The essentials

Cutting a wrap coat, November.
The workshop

Cut on 82 Avenue. Tested on the coldest morning of the year.

Firn started in 2019 as one machine in a Ritchie garage. Every parka still goes through the same six hands, from the first cut to the last bar tack.

We do not send anything to a lab. We wear it, outside, on the mornings the school buses are cancelled, and we publish the number we get.
